We all know he got food poisoning, damaged his vocal cords from vomiting, and lost his higher range abilities forever...
What you may NOT know... is that man was able to hit an F#. Not just any fuckin' F#, but a BEAUTIFUL, FULL, RICH, SUPPORTED F#. It's only ever heard in their older song Learn To Live off Images And Words... But it's there.
This may mean nothing to yo guys, but if you're a male singer, it should. If you ARE, and have a guitar, pick it up and play the 14th fret of the high E string. That's the note he hits. Not in falsetto- full man voice. Try and match that EXACT pitch (same octave) yourself.
Yes, his vocal range is still higher and more rich than the average male singer (not to mention he's just BETTER than most people as it is) but he lost a good, COMFORTABLE 4th or 5th in his range.. I'm sure when he does that song in concert now (which they do, and he DOES this part) it hurts a LOT to hit that F#... And it's just not as good =\
Poor man.. True solid evidence that bad things happen to good people.
